What this system has that others don’t is the “smart” technology.  In the collimator it has two 3D cameras that automatically measures the thickness of the body part to be imaged.  This patented ATD, (auto thickness detection) removes the process of the Vet or technician having to manually measure the body part!  Our “Smart APR” (Anatomical Programmed Radiography) determines technique (exposure factors) based on the automatically measured thickness of the anatomy to be x-rayed.  As determined by the algorithms, mA, Time and kVp are then automatically set on the generator. This eliminates any guesswork, interpretation of technique guides.  Furthermore repeat exposures due to technique are significantly reduced.  Less retakes means less radiation dose to personnel and patients.
